Nanocomposite Membranes of Sulfonated Poly(ether ether ketone)/Inorganic Particles substituted Phosphorous Acid for High Temperature PEMFCs |
초록 |
Sulfonated poly(ether ether ketone) (sPEEK) is a strong electrolyte candidate for polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) applications. However, sPEEK membrane gives the relatively high conductivity only in the presence of water molecules, this is the main obstacle to develop high temperature PEMFCs. To settle this problem, we have developed new type of nanocomposite membrane of sPEEK containing layered inorganic fillers. Zirconium phosphophenyl phosphate (Zr3P) has a phosphorous group to present high proton conductivity without water molecules. The addition of Zr3P compounds significantly improved proton conductivity of sPEEK under anhydrous condition at high temperatures. Further it exhibited excellent capture properties of water molecules due to its layered structures. sPEEK/Zr3P nanocomposite membrane showed better proton conductivity and cell performance than sPEEK above 90 ℃ at low humidity. |
