제목 Formation of Single-Wall Carbon Nanotubes(SWNTs) Dotted with Gold-Nanocrystals and Biological Application
초록 SWNTs dotted with gold nanocrystals were fabricated by chemically linking gold with the thiol-derivatised SWNTs, in which the gold colloids were crystallized on the thiol-functionalized SWNT rods by reduction of HAuCl4. It was found that the gold particles were primarily grafted at the side-walls of the nanotubes, containing ca. 35-42 gold particles per 100nm of SWNT ropes. However, the structure of the SWNT ropes and gold particles was preserved upon the chemical attachment. This nano-material, termed “Versatile Nano-Rod” plays the role of an important new functional material that is such application as the conjugation of biological materials.
