Molecular machinery based on nucleic acid biomaterials |
초록 |
Nucleic acids fold into a unique 3D structure, creating a variety of functions. Importantly, these synthetic constructs can be programmed to perform a wide range of molecular functions in a controlled manner. My work has focused on generating nucleic acid-based multi-functional biopolymers and their applications. Specifically, I will first introduce an innovative selection strategy to discover functional DNA nanostructures that undergo binding-induced structure-switching (nanomechanical motion). I will subsequently show that the nanostructures can play a role of synthetic allosteric regulators that perform useful molecular functions for diagnostic and therapeutic applications. Furthermore, I will demonstrate a unique catalytic RNAs that recognize and polymerize the targeted short RNAs. Finally, I will describe a novel synthetic method to create hybrid materials capable of performing multi-step processes by integrating aptamers with engineered polymers for targeted drug delivery. |
