Pressure sensitive adhesives (PSAs) with higher thermal stability were successfully prepared by incorporating vinyl-modified graphene oxide(GO). GO was modified by reacting with isophorone diisocyanate and 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate. The acrylic copolymer matrices were synthesized by solution polymerization of 2-EHA, EA, and AA with AIBN as an initiator. The acrylic copolymer was further modified with glycidyl methacrylate which introduced the unsaturated groups available for UV curing. The adhesion performance of GO/acrylic copolymer composite PSAs was investigated using FT-IR, gel fraction, peel strength, and dynamic mechanical analysis. Thermal properties of the composite PSAs were improved with increasing GO and UV dose as confirmed from the thermogravimetric analysis. |
