The effects of Ni content on the performance of sol-gel prepared Ni-MgO-Al2O3 catalysts were investigated in carbon dioxide reforming of methane. The highly dispersed Ni-MgO-Al2O3 catalysts with various Ni contents (5~15wt%) were prepared by sol-gel method using citric acid and sucrose. The prepared catalysts were characterized by XRD, TEM, chemisorption, TPR and TGA. The particle size of Ni metal in reduced catalysts was increased with the increase of Ni contents. Whereas high catalytic activity was observed with Ni-rich catalysts, high coke resistance was obtained at the expense of slight decrease in catalytic activity with low Ni catalysts. |
