제목 Superhydrophilic organosilicate nano-films with durability and antimicrobial effect for medical devices
초록 Organosilicate is a promising material in various fields due to its high mechanical properties and biocompatibility. In this study, we used tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) as a precursor of the sol-gel reaction to form a base of organosilicate and added silica particles to induce roughness and hydroxyl groups in the film due to the additional sol-gel reaction. When the synthesized organosilicate was coated on the glass substrate by dipping method, the film exhibited superhydrophilic property. Such a superhydrophilic organosilicate film has excellent antimicrobial effect by preventing the biofilm by forming a water film on the surface as well as exhibiting excellent biocompatibility. Our results are therefore expected to be applicable to a variety of medical devices due to organosilicate film’s higher stability and biocompatibility than conventional superhydrophilic materials.
