Solid polymer electrolytes(SPEs) can be applied in many electrochemical devices. However, SPEs have lower ionic conductivity at room-temperature. because most polymers for SPEs have either comparatively high crystallinity or high glass transition temperature (Tg), which decrease the mobility of the ions. PCD(polycarbonate diol) is a polymer with relatively higher ionic conductivity than others and has good electrochemical stability. MEE(methoxyethoxy ethanol) having ether group at chain can reduce Tg for fast ion transport. In this experiment, PCD and MEE were synthesized with 3-(Triethoxysilyl)propyl isocyanate to make precursors. Additionally, TEOS(tetraethyl orthosilicate) was added to increase ionic conductivity. Each of them is mixed to form a gel matrix through Sol-Gel processing. The composition, structure and ionic conductivity were measured by various analytical instruments and the electrolyte prepared in this experiment was made as a cell to analyze the cell characteristics |
