제목 CO2  adsorption characteristics of KOH-activated carbon prepared from coke waste
초록 Activated carbon is prepared from the coke waste by potassium hydroxide (KOH) solution with various concentrations. The activation process is conducted at 1023 K for 3 h after it is soaked in the KOH solution for 24 h. The textural properties and CO2 adsorption of the activated carbon is investigated at 273 K. The CO2 adsorption results show that adsorbed quantity of CO2 is increased by increasing the KOH solution concentration. This improvement can be attributed to an increase of specific surface area by formation of pores in the coke waste. However, the adsorbed quantity of CO2 of the activated carbon treated with 6 M KOH is smaller than that of the untreated coke waste. This seems that pores in the activated carbon are collapsed by much higher KOH concentration.
