The advantages of Capacitive deionization (CDI) include lower energy consumption without secondary pollution, compared with conventional desalination technologies. It's performance of CDI is largely dependent on the properties of the electrode materials, such as pore structures and high electrical conductivity. In general, the shape of pore has effect on the capacitance and mass transfer. Therefore, it is important to control the pore size distribution to the performance of CDI system. In this study, we make the carbon electrodes depending on the pore size distribution and find optimum pore size distribution. In conclusion, optimum pore size distribution more effective than previous carbon electrode in CDI system. |
