Membranes often display trade-offeffects between permeation flux and separation factor in pervaporation andexploring the strategies for breaking the effects is the crucial issue. On thatpoint, MOF is a promising material to break the trade-off effect because of pore size (7Å). But Low affinity makes aggregation so thereis a limitation of performance enhancement. In this study, UIO-66 with the hydrophilic defect is synthesized and embedded in PVAmatrix. Size effect and hydrophilicity make a better interface so high loading Mixedmatrix membrane is possible compared to normal UIO-66. UIO characterization isperformed using TGA, XRD, XPS, BET, and Membrane properties are investigated usingSEM, TGA, UTM, XRD, XPS. Pervaporation test is performed withIPA and Water mixture. In the 80/20 IPA/Water feed system, UIO-66 S size 4%loading membrane increase the flux 11.6%, separation factor 22.8% compared topristine PVA membrane. |
