In this work, electrochemical properties of nitrogen (N)-doped multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) as a function of temperature were studied in electric double-layer capacitors (EDLCs). The N-doped MWNTs were introduced by urea treatment, and then heat treatment was carried out at 700, 800, 900, and 1000℃, respectively. The surface characteristics of the MWNTs were analyzed by XPS and N2/77 K adsorption isotherms. The electrochemical properties were accumulated by cyclic voltammetry at a scan rates of 1 mVs-1 in 1 M H2SO4. Consequently, the capacitance was strongly influenced on N functional groups of MWNTs, resulting from the good wettability between electrode materials and charge species. |
