In this study, boron and nitrogen co-doped porous carbons (BNC) were prepared through pyrolysis and carbonization of gel containing citric acid, sucrose, boric acid, and urea as precursors for electric double-layer capacitors (EDLC). The BNC were characterized by XRD, XPS, and nitrogen adsorption/desorption at 77 K. Their electrochemical behaviors were measured by galvanostatic charge/discharge. As a result, the BNC sample had higher specific capacitance and cycling performance than those of BC and NC, attributed to tuned highest porosity parameters. These results indicated that the heteroatoms were incorporated into porous carbons, which could improve the wettability of the interface between electrolytes and electrodes. |
