Electrochemical properties ofsolid polymer electrolyte for supercapacitors |

Electrochemical characteristics of the electric double layer capacitors composed of solid polymer electrolytes and a different thickness of electrolytes have been investigated. Solid polymer electrolytes were prepared by making use of the electrospinning and compression, followed by solvent-assisted or heated. The electrospun PAN non-woven fabric and electrolyte salt composites showed high ionic conductivity and capacitance compared with the liquid organic electrolyte. The equivalent series resistance of the capacitors decreased with decreasing the thickness of electrolytes. The solid polymer electrolytes provided a 44.6 % and 13.0 % increment of the maximum power density and energy density, seemingly by decreasing the ESR and increasing capacitance. |
