제목 Highly active and stable zirconium phosphate grafted on silica for renewable p-xylene production from biomass-derived intermediates
초록 A biorefinery technology is an important approach for the production of renewable energy and chemical building blocks. Among them, p-xylene (PX) has been considered as an important building block for terephthalic acid that can be used as monomer for polyester and polyethylene terephthalate plastics. In the present study, one-pot grafting method of zirconium phosphate (ZrP) on different silica-based supports were studied for PX production from 2,5-dimethylfuran (DMF) with ethylene through cycloaddition reaction. The ZrP grafted on SBA-15 (ZrP-SBA-15) displayed a maximum DMF conversion of 89% with 95% selectivity of PX, which was significantly higher than the ZrP on ordered KIT-6 and commercial SiO2 support. The high catalytic performance for PX production on the ZrP-SBA-15 may be attributed to the different surface structures of ZrP phases on the SBA-15 with its optimal acidic site density, which were confirmed by solid-state 31P NMR.
