UV curing technology has been used in industrial areas due to its advantages such as a high scratch resistance, low VOCs, but there are some disadvantages as a lack of flexibility after UV curing. It is so brittle that it cannot be applied to pre-coated metal (PCM) which is required to a high flexibility for a forming. To cover this drawback, a polycarbonate diol (PCDL) with good flexibility is introduced to this UV cure system. In this study, UV-curable polycarbonate-based polyurethane base polymers were synthesized with PCDL, isophorone diisocyanate (IPDI) and 2-hydroxyethylmethacrylate (2-HEMA). The mechanical properties were measured by Universal Testing Machine (UTM). Also, a photo curing kinetics was measured by photo - Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC). We inves-tigated that the curing kinetics and mechanical properties on a molecular weight of PCDL and a dose of photoinitiator. Higher crosslinking density and lower molecular weight of PCDL improved surface properties. |
