제목 Development and Performance of Catalytic Diesel Particulate Filter Systems for Heavy-Duty Diesel Vehicles
초록 The development of a passive-type DPF system which adopts a catalyzed wall-flow filter for trapping and combustion of soot particulates was carried out. The best catalytic formulation for soot oxidation catalyst was obtained when platinum, transition metal oxides, and alkali metals were present with the optimum ratio. The soot oxidation catalyst was prepared from a protective-polymer stabilized colloidal solution of a platinum group metal (PGM) salt and transition metal (TM) salts, in order to provide precisely size-controlled nanoparticles of precious metals and then well-disperse them on a high surface area oxide support. Results of engine bench and vehicle tests on heavy-duty diesel trucks have validated that the catalyzed DPF has sufficiently low regeneration temperature with > 90% PM removal efficiency.
