Quantum dots (QDs) have currently emerged as advancement of optoelectronic device due to their broad color tunability, high photoluminescence quantum yield, and narrowband emission. However, these excellent optical properties are easilylost by oxidative degradation caused by external factors such as heat, oxygen, and moisture. In this study, by controlling the synthesis conditions, we designed one-step process in which QDs are aggregated with silica primary particles in the center of silica shell whose size was controlled to be tens to hundreds nm. This core-shell structure provides excellent stability which was confirmed by the test that it was stored in high temperature and high humidity environments. Absolute quantum yield and mission profile were measured withtime. This core-shell type QD-silica capsule is suitable for various optoelectronic devices such as QD color filter, ink-jet printing, and biosensor. |
