A three-dimensional, mathematical model for two-phase flow dynamics in polymer electrolyte fuel cells has been developed based on the unsaturated flow theory (UFT) and the mist flow model, and is validated against the average polarization curve experimentally measured. In the study, we mainly focus on cathode flooding with its various temperature. From the results, cathode flooding phenomenon of the fuel cell decrease with the increase of temperature. Because evaporation of water becomes more active with incresing steam pressure. |
