제목 Enhancements of the Photocurrent and Open Circuit Voltage in Organic Photovoltaic Cells with a Phthalocyanine Interlayer
초록 Organic photovoltaic (OPV) cells can be an essential component of future global energy production because of low cost, light weight, and mechanical flexibility. We improved short-circuit current density (Jsc) and open-circuit voltage (Voc) of the OPV cells by inserting a phthalocyanine thin layer between pentacene and C70 layers. The HOMO and LUMO levels of the three materials form a cascade energy band structure and the band offsets at all interfaces in the photoactive layer is larger. These can lead to efficient exciton dissociation and charge transfer at the interface between any two organic layers. In this energy band structure, additionally-generated excitons in the interlayer could contribute to photocurrent. Furthermore, higher ionization potential of the phthalocyanine materials compared to the donor increased the Voc.
