β-crystalline phase of poly(vinylidene fluoride) induced by organically modified silicate |
초록 |
The nanocomposites of poly(vinylidene fluoride)(PVDF) and organically modified silicate (OMS), Lucentite STN are prepared from dimethyl acetamide solution. The melt quenched samples of PVDF-OMS nanocomposites showed the preferential formation of technologically important β-crystalline phase of PVDF without any mechanical treatments. The observed β-phase is identified by the appearance of peak at 1274 cm-1 in Fourier transform infrared spectrum. In differential scanning calorimetry studies, the melting endotherm observed at around 178oC is correlated with the presence of β-crystals. The appearance of peaks at the 2Θ values around 20o in wide angle X-ray scattering profiles confirms the presence of β-crystals. Further, the nanocomposites samples will be studied for ferroelectric memory applications using appropriate techniques and measurements.
