제목 β-crystalline phase of poly(vinylidene fluoride) induced by organically modified silicate
초록 The nanocomposites of poly(vinylidene fluoride)(PVDF) and organically modified silicate (OMS), Lucentite STN are prepared from dimethyl acetamide solution. The melt quenched samples of PVDF-OMS nanocomposites showed the preferential formation of technologically important β-crystalline phase of PVDF without any mechanical treatments. The observed β-phase is identified by the appearance of peak at 1274 cm-1 in Fourier transform infrared spectrum. In differential scanning calorimetry studies, the melting endotherm observed at around 178oC is correlated with the presence of β-crystals. The appearance of peaks at the 2Θ values around 20o in wide angle X-ray scattering profiles confirms the presence of β-crystals. Further, the nanocomposites samples will be studied for ferroelectric memory applications using appropriate techniques and measurements.
