The effect of post thermal annealing on the film morphology of organic semiconcuctor (Ph-BTBT-C10) thin film and its OFET performance |

Recently, solution-processed organic field effect transistors (OFETs) have attracted high attention. The OFET performance depends on film quality, which is affected by solution-process conditions and additional processes. In this study, we investigated the fabrication of highly ordered polycrystalline thin film by combination spin-coating and post thermal annealing process, focusing on the effects of annealing temperature on film morphology of organic semiconductors and its FET performance. We selected a Ph-BTBT-C10 as active material for OFETs, which shows a highly ordered SmE and its thin films giving high mobility, in addition to high stability. We aimed to well defined molecular orientation in thin film of Ph-BTBT-C10 via annealing. A uniform and molecularly-flat polycrystalline thin films were obtained after thermal annealing at a SmE phase temperature, i.e., over 140oC. As a result, we successfully fabricated high-performance organic transistors with a mobility of ~5.22 cm2/V·s. |
