In this work, we have investigated the synthesis and characterization of functionalized mesoporous silica nanoparticles(MSN) with biopolymer. The surface of the silica was modified with (3-Aminopropyl)triethoxysilane (APTES). Afterwards, mesoporous silica nanoparticles were capped with Poly-L-lysine (PLL) containing two amino groups. This polymer was used a gate keeper for MSN. The structure and surface properties of the mesoporous silica nanoparticles(MSNs) and modified MSNs were studied by means of XRD, N2 adsorption/desorption (BET), TGA analysis, UV–vis and FTIR spectroscopies. Also, TEM confirmed these results and shows a coating of Poly-L-lysine on the surface MSNs. By considering the property of modified biopolymer, it is possible to be used as pH-responsive drug delivery system for targeted drug delivery applications. |
