We describe the charge transport behaviors in one-dimensional (1D) poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT) nanomaterials of different shapes from the two aspects, namely intrinsic and extrinsic factors. The oxidation level of the 1D PEDOT nanomaterials became higher with increasing aspect ratio of the nanomaterials, which was closely linked to the conjugation length. This result implied that the transport properties of the nanomaterials were significantly dependent on their shape. The 1D PEDOT nanomaterials made an Ohmic contact with the gold interdigitated microelectrodes. In addition, a strong correlation was observed between the interparticle contact resistance and the shape of the nanomaterials. Lastly, the intrinsic and extrinsic factors regarding the charge transports were further illustrated by the resistance changes of the nanomaterials-based sensors. |
