제목 Synthesis of hexaacryloyloxyalkyloxytriphenylenes and their mesomorphism
초록 Triphenylene based discotic liquid crystals with reactive acrylate end group have been recently applied to fabricate the optical compensation film for wide viewing angle LCDs. A homologous series of hexaacryloyloxyalkyloxytriphenylenes, TP(OCnH2n+1OCOCH=CH2)6 have been prepared with n=6, 8, 12 in order to study their mesomorphism. Phase transitions have been studied by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and polarized optical microscopy (POM). In this presentation, we will discuss the effect of the aliphatic chain length on the thermal phase behavior.
