제목 Self-assembled Polymer Nanoparticles Immobilized on Titanium Surface  for Sustained Release of Simvastatin
초록 Surface engineering with bioactive agents has been widely utilized to promote the performance of medical devices. A recent trend has focused on the development of surface-releasing systems that aim to accelerate the osseointegration of dental implants. In particular, the surface immobilization of nanocontainers that can control the release of bioactive molecules has emerged as a promising technique. In this study, we develop a nanoparticle-immobilized titanium surface that can release simvastatin in a controlled manner. The simvastatin-loaded nanoparticles were prepared by self-assembly of 5-cholanic acid-conjugated glycol chitosan in the presence of simvastatin. The successful immobilization of nanoparticles onto titanium surfaces was confirmed by FE-SEM and XPS. The release of simvastatin lasted for up to 20 days. We suggest that simvastatin-loaded nanoparticles immobilized onto titanium may provide various medical devices with improved bone-regenerative activity.
