제목 Fabrication of Poly(AA-co-AM)/Sepiolite Composite through Polymerization for Humidity Control
초록 Sepiolite is one of many naturally occurring clay materials composed of hydrated magnesium silicate with nano needle-like shape and has high surface area with porosity. In many studies, sepiolite has been used to increase the mechanical, physical, and thermal properties of polymer. But in this study sepiolite was used in the sepiolite/polymer composite in order to investigate the moisture absorption capability of a hydrophilic polymer. Water soluble monomers (acrylic acid, acrylamide) were polymerized in the presence of sepiolite dispersion, and the products were isolated to make sepiolite/polymer composites. Obtained products were characterizaed by FT-IR, TGA and SEM. Moisture absorption performance of the composites were evaluated at constant temperature and relative humidity using a thermo-hygrostat.
