The effects of extractants on the high density polyethylene(HDPE) membranes were investigated. Stearyl alcohol, soybean oil and dibuthyl phthalate were premixed as a codiluent. And then, the HDPE and the codiluent were mixed to obtain the precursor films in the twin extruder. The precursor films were uni-axially stretched up to 600%. Finally, the codiluent was extracted from the stretched film for the formation of the pores with different extractants. The extractants were methanol, ethanol, butanol, hexane. The porosity of the HDPE membrane extracted by hexane had the highest value. |
