The interpenetrating polymeric network (IPN) structure has emerged as one of the most useful novel biomaterial, which is entanglement of polymer networks with at least one network crosslinked in the presence of the other. The IPN structure is attractive for gel polymer electrolyte because it provide free volume space for the more capacity of liquid electrolyte in the structure. In this paper, we studied gel polymer electrolyte based on Acrylated chitosan and Methacrylated alginate according to various carbonate-based solvent mixtures such as EC/PC, EC/DMC, EC/DEC and EC/EMC (1M LiClO4 in 1:1 liquid electrolyte Vol.) for improving their electrochemical properties. The gel polymer electrolyte containing Acrylated chitosan and Methacrylated alginate with 1M LiClO4 in EC/DMC exhibited a high ionic conductivity of 2.771 x 10-3 which is higher than that of other carbonate-based solvent mixtures and is thus high enough to be applied for lithium secondary batteries. |
