A study on lithium ion exchanged X-zeolite for Nitrogen adsorption of PSA process |

Ca exchanged A and X zeolite is used as conventional adsorbents for oxygen PSA. Li exchanged X zeolite(LiX) was measured better nitrogen adsorption capacity then Na and Ca exchanged X zeolite(NaX & CaX). Adsorption capacity of nitrogen by LiX was depended on Li exchange rate. Lowly Li exchanged X zeolite is measured low adsorption capacity and highly Li exchanged X zeolite is measured high adsorption capacity. X zeolite was synthesized by general method[Aluminum source NaAlO2 (Junsei, mole ratio Na2O/Al2O3 1.4) Silica source Na2SiO3(Hanbul chemical, weight ratio SiO2/NaOH=3) Na2O source NaOH(98%)]. Metal cation precursors LiCl, LiOH(Junsei chemical: 98%),H2O were used to exchange metal cation. LiCl & LiOH were mixed into regular rate. The rate of ion exchange was analyzed by ICP, and the capacity of nitrogen and oxygen adsorption was measured by MSB(magnetic suspension balance.
