Lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) has advantages such as high energy density/operation voltage, fast power characteristics, and excellent lifespan. Graphite has been considered as a anode material of LIB due to its high chemical stability, low potential of about 0.1 V to Li/Li+, low cost, and high conductivity. Graphite theoretically has a capacity of 372 mAh/g and shows high thermal efficiency at low C-rate, but its performance is significantly degraded at high C-rate. The surface treatment of a graphite-based electrode could greatly improve current density and rate performance and reduce electrode damage in repeated charge/discharge processes. In this study, to investigate the effect of fluorination on the graphite surface with direct gas fluorination on electrochemical properties, retention capacity at high C-rate, especially |
