Decreased Adsorption Time of Dyes onto TiO2 Surface by Electrophoretic Method in Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells |

Dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) based on nanocrystalline porous TiO2 films are regarded as a potential low-cost alternative to conventional inorganic solar cells. An impressive 12.3% solar-to-electric power conversion efficiency (PCE) has been reported. However, further improvements in PCE are necessary to successfully commercialize DSSCs. In order to improve PCE in DSSCs, it is important to adsorb the dye molecules uniformly within the whole surface of photoelectrodes. Although simple soaking of the photoelectrodes is usually used to adsorb dyes, adsorption time is too long in terms of commercial applications. In this study, we report on the decreased adsorption time of dyes onto TiO2 surface by electrophoretic method in DSSCs. |
