Many attempts have been made to prepare linear, high molecular weight polyphosphazenes with an essentially linear inorganic backbone of alternating phosphorus and nitrogen atoms. To fabricate new polyphosphazenes with polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (POSS), POSS with the partially caged-structure was synthesized using hydrolysis condensation reaction of cyclopentyltrichlorosilane. The side group of polyphosphazenes was modified with POSS. It is interesting to check POSS effect on the thermal and mechanical properties of polyphosphazenes containing POSS. In addition, we discuss their unique characteristics and properties confirmed by 31P and 1HNMR, TGA, DSC, SEM, EDX and FT-IR. |
