Mussel-inspired chemistry is distinctive chemistry of catechol-functionalized organic and nanomaterials and it has wide range of applications with the purpose of surface coating. Polyhedral Oligomeric Silsesquioxane (POSS), an organic-inorganic hybrid material, is one of excellent building blocks providing mechanical and thermal property. In this study, we’ve synthesized water-soluble POSS-functionalized catecholic compounds which are applicable for simple mussel-inspired coating on various substrates. This natural gluing of organic/inorganic hybrid materials has never been attempted before. Various application of POSS-functionalized catecholic compounds will be discussed in detail. 2017년 한국교통대학교 지원을 받아 수행하였음. |
