제목 Copolymerization of Ethylene oxide, Epichlorohydrin and Tetrahydrofuran using Cationic Ring-Opening Polymerization
초록 The well-defined terpolymers derived from ethylene oxide(EO), epichlorohydrin(ECH), and tetrahydrofuran(THF) were synthesized by the cationic ring-opening polymerization with 1,4-butandiol, a initiator, and BF3∙THF Complex, a catalyst system. This polymerization was proceeded by activated monomer (AM) mechanism for controlling the molecular weight, narrow molecular weight distribution, and the functionality. The structure and composition of synthesized terpolymers as well as ratio of 1° alcohol and 2° alcohol, hydroxyl end-groups were converted into the ester groups by reaction with trifluoroacetic anhydride(CF3CO)2O, were characterized by 1H-NMR spectroscopy. The molecular weight and the molecular weight distribution of their terpolymers were analyzed by gel-permeation chromatography (GPC).
