제목 Preparation and characterization of energetic thermoplastic elastomers based on the azidated poly(vinyl alcohol) (Az-PVOH)/ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA) blends
초록 Themoplastic elastomers (TPEs) possess rubber elasticity and melt processability. Energetic TPEs (ETPE) are used as binders for insensitive composite explosives and gun propellants. Typical ETPEs are segmented polyurethanes which can be synthesized by the reaction a dihydroxyl terminated telechelic energetic oligomer such as glycidyl azide polymer diol with diisocyanate.  In this study, a new ETPE was developed from the blends of azidated poly(vinyl alcohol) (Az-PVOH) and ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA). The Az-PVOH was synthesized via a two-step process involving chloroacetylation of PVOH and subsequent azidation of chloroacetylated PVOH. It was found that Az-PVOH/EVA blends exhibited elastic properties and melt processibility. Effects of blend composition and azidation level of Az-PVOH on thermal and mechanical properties of the blends were investigated.
