Poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) doped with poly(styrene sulfonate) (PEDOT-PSS) is a conducting material to be used for electronic devices due to its high conductivity, high visible-light transmissivity, and excellent stability. In this study, conductive PEDOT-PSS/poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) composite nanofibers with diameters of about 150-250 nm were obtained by electrospinning. Electrospun nanofibers were prepared from a solution mixture of PEDOT-PSS and PEO, which acted as a carrier in order to improve the processability of PEDOT-PSS. Both the diameter and the electrical conductivity of PEDOT-PSS nanofibers could be controlled by varying the ratio of PEDOT-PSS/PEO content. The PEDOT-PSS/PEO/MWNT nanocomposites were also electrospun to form ultrafine fibers. The inclusion of MWNT presented further increase in electrical conductivity of PEDOT-PSS nanofibers. The morphology and electrical properties of the PEDOT-PSS nanofibers were examined by SEM, TEM, and the four-point probe method. |
