MFI-type zeolite membranes on Anodisc were prepared by hydrothermal synthesis. Silicalite-1 (≈ 1.2 μm) crystals were synthesized as seed crystals and they were assembled into uniformly aligned monolayers on the surfaces of Anodisc. Under the synthesis conditions with TPABr (tetrapropylammonium bromide) as the structure directing agent, randomly oriented MFI-type membranes were obtained. Under the synthesis condition without TPABr, however, b-oriented MFI-type membranes were obtained and their morphologies were depended on the ratios of OH-/H2O, TEOS/OH- and the reaction time. The obtained zeolite membranes were observed by scanning electron microscope and X-ray diffraction. |
