Double layered microsphere : encapsulation of water-soluble protein with PLGA |

Poly(lactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA)-based microspheres are biodegradable particulate delivery systems providing both the protection of the drug, encapsulated inside a polymeric matrix, and its release at slow and continuous rate. In this study, BSA/PLGA double-layered microspheres(DLM) were fabricated using O/W solvent evaporation method. First, MC containing PLGA was dropped into aqueous BSA solution with surfactant. The solution was stirred several hours at room temperature. The fabricated DLM were collected by centrifugation and washed with water more than five times. After washing, the DLM were freeze for 7days. The DLM had spherical shape ,smooth surface and transparency. In fluorescent observation, we observed the fluorescent core in the DLM composed of FITC-BSA and PLGA using CFLM.
