Glycidyl azide polymer(GAP) has been used for energetic binders. GAP has good properties such as low Tg, low viscosity, high density, high positive heat of formation. And tetrazoles are also nitrogen-rich and thermally stable compounds. Especially, tetrazole have high heat of formation so it is expexted as a good candidate for high energy density material(HEDM). But GAP has low stability and polymer containing tetrazoles has poor processibility. So we designed poly(glycidyl azide-co-glycidyl tetrazole)s (PGATs) to complement their drawbacks. PGATs containing azide and tetrazole pendants were synthesized by two steps reaction. First, poly(epichlorohydrin-co-glycidyl tetrazole)s (PEGTs) were synthesized through the reaction of PECH with various tetrazoles using NaOH in DMSO. And then PEGTs are reacted with sodium azide in DMSO to get PGATs. The structures of PGATs are confirmed by IR, 1H and 13C NMR spectral analyses. Thermal properties of the PGATs were evaluated using DSC. |
