Fischer-Tropsch Synthesis (FTS) reaction is a promising alternative method to produce a wide range of value-added hydrocarbons from syngas. For a cobalt-based FTS catalyst, effects of zirconium phosphate (ZrP) nanoparticles on the ordered mesoporous Co/KIT-6 have been investigated for an enhanced catalytic activity and stability. An optimum molar ratio of P/Zr of 0.2 on the Co/ZrP/KIT-6 showed the highest catalytic stability and CO conversion with a higher C5+ selectivity. It was related with a spatial confined cobalt nanoparticles in the well-dispersed ZrP nanoparticles on the mesoporous KIT-6. The aggregations of cobalt nanoparticles were also significantly suppressed as well as the formation of inactive heavy coke precursors was prohibited. |
