Electrospinning is suitable method to make nanosize fibers. This method can be used to make various inner morphologies such as core-shell, multicore and hollow structures. In present work, we prepared latent heat storage polymer fiber containing phase change materials(PCM). A mixture of dimethylformamide and tetrahydrofuran were used as solvent for making Polystyrene and Polyacrylonitrile fiber containing n-octadecane as PCM. Size of fibers can be controlled by changing the factors such as type of polymers, solution concentration, and applied voltage. Inner structure of fiber is multicore type because of n-octadecane having low viscosity and surface tension. Latent heat storage capacities of fibers were measured by differential scanning calorimeter. PS fiber showed better latent heat capacity than PAN fiber. |
