Transparent and colored solar windows have potential for clean and distributed energy harvesting. Although diverse types of transparent and colored photovoltaic devices (PVs) for solar windows have been researched, PVs that feature high power conversion efficiency (PCE), high average visible light transmittance (AVT), and high color purity, simultaneously, have not been developed yet. We herein present an approach to fabricate transparent and colored PVs using spatially-segmented perovskite photovoltaic microcells (spμCs). The lift-off-based perovskite patterning method enables the fabrication of uniform spμCs with high-quality interfaces between charge transport layers and the perovskite layer. Thus, spμCs achieved a PCE of 20.1 %, which is nearly same as that of our unpatterned perovskite PV. The transparent PV based on spμCs exhibited an AVT X PCE of 426. The metal–insulator–metal structure, deposited on the transparent PV, confers various colors with high color purity on the transparent PVs. |
