Photosensitizer(PS) is a promising approach for antitumor treatment because of its powerful reactive oxygen species-mediated cell death. But, there are limitations for using PS alone, such as low tumor specificity, low hydrophilicity and undesirable side-effect. To overcome these obstacles, we fabricated targetable and controllable PS-nanoparticle(PSN) by using polysaccharide. In addition, we developed core-shell structure to enhance therapeutic effect. The core is consist of photothermal bio-mimic materials and the shell is PS-polysaccharide, which can achieve both photothermal therapy(PTT) and photodynamic therapy(PDT) to maximize antitumor effect. This dual-modal PSN has uniform size distribution, significant antitumor activity especially our in-vivo experiment. |
