Carbon nanodots(C-dots) are fascinating carbon materials that are attracting increasing interest because they have distinct benefits, such as chemical inertness, low cytotoxicity, a lack of optical blinking and excellent biocompatibility, compared with organic dyes and other semiconductor nanodots with heavy metal cores. We did experimental work with Lysine that has two amine group and one carboxylic acid as AB2 monomer by using microwave in the bottom-up method. Microwave synthesis has become popular because of the lower associated costs than for the other methods and synthesis is achieved in one step. However, the quantum yields of these microwave synthesized luminescent C-dots are often less than 10%. Lysine carbon nanodots have high yields(less crosslinked, less gel-forming), simple hybridization and it biocompatible characteristic. At present a lot more research into C-dots is required before they can be used for commercial applications. 2015년 한국교통대학교 지원을 받아 수행하였음. |
