Investigation on charge effect on protein-surface and protein-protein interactions |

The protein adsorption behavior is a crucial event for the determination of the biocompatibility of a material. Upon introduction of a material into biological environment, protein adsorption takes place instantaneously since a protein is a surface-active molecule. In the development of biomaterial with excellent biocompatibility, understanding on protein-material interaction can provide better information. The charge effect on protein-surface and protein-protein interactions were investigated in terms of adsorbed protein amount. Result illustrated that charge of protein molecule played a singnificant role in the adsorbed mass of protein. |
