In this work, we have prepared the porous carbon as adsorbents for hydrogen storage. Carbon adsorbents were based on Carbon Black (CB) and were activated by steam. The structural and morphological properties were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscope (SEM), respectively. The pore structure and specific surface area were investigated by N2/77 K adsorption isotherms using Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) equation. The hydrogen storage capacities were analyzed at 77 K and 1 bar. From the results, it was found that the hydrogen storage behaviors were greatly influenced by steam activation that increases specific surface area of the prepared samples. |
