제목 Generation of periodically arrayed liquid crystalline torons in a confined micro-channel
초록 We generated cholesteric liquid crystalline (CLC) torons in a micro-channel with thermal quenching process. LC molecules exhibited vertical alignment and fingers depending on confinement ratio of channel width over helical pitch. LC molecules were vertically aligned when the narrower channel width than the helical pitch of the CLC, while they formed fingers under weak confinement of the wider channel width than the pitch. An additional thermal quenching process generated the CLC torons periodically arranged in a row in center of the channel with mono-disperse size distribution.
