Novel derivative polymers conjugated with bioactive amino acid groups and their amphiphilic homologues were synthesized by polymer reactions based on this poly(aspartic acid). In addition, the corresponding hydrogels obtained by chemical or physical crosslinking with natural polysaccharides were prepared, exhibiting varied swelling properties and specific dye adsorption characteristics. The prepared polymer materials were characterized by IR, NMR, dynamic light scattering (DLS), with the swelling behavior for different hydrogels. Some results on the biological cell growth and activity assays for amino-acid conjugated polymers will also be presented. |
