In recent years, phosphorescent iridium complexs have become important blue emitting materials for organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs). Still now, formal reports with full disclosure on deep blue OLED dopant/host materials and devices are rare and sketchy. In this article, we describe a facile synthesis of a new blue-emitting main ligand materials, namely 2-(2,4-difluorophenyl)-4-ethoxypyridine [dpep], 3-(4-ethoxypyridin-2-yl)-2,6-difluorobenzonitrile [dbnep]. These new ligand chemical structures consisted of phenyl-pyridine moieties. Furthermore we introduced picolic acid, picolic N-oxide as an ancilary ligand. We synthesised and characterized with 1H-NMR, 13H-NMR, UV visible spectra, photoluminescence, DSC, TGA. |
