Carbon-based materials such as graphene, CNT, and CNF have attracted great interests as electrode materials for DMFCs owing to their unique physical, chemical, electrical, and electrochemical properties as well as high surface area and low cost. In particular, modified carbon-based materials produced by various methods have been widely used as supporting materials. Furthermore, the most important key factor in DMFCs is to enhance the catalytic activity of electro-catalysts using supporting materials. Therefore, we synthesized modified carbon-based materials for improving the catalytic activity of methanol electro-oxidation. Their structure, morphology, chemical composition, and electrochemical properties of the resultant samples were investigated by using XRD, XPS, SEM, TEM, CV and CA. Based on these results, the relationship between the electrochemical and structural properties of electro-catalysts for modified carbon-based materials will be discussed in Conference. |
